Finland - the happiest country in the world invites Brazilian talents and businesses to co-operate

For the 6th year in a row, Finland has been named the happiest country in the annual World Happiness Report. What is behind the happiness and what kind collaboration options are there for Brazilian businesses and talents in Finland? Finlandworks team is at WebSummit Rio from 1st until 4th May to answer these questions.

The Finns and their society have for long been considered as the happiest in the world. In the World Happiness report, ‘happiness’ means people's satisfaction with their lives. Satisfaction is measured based on GDP, life expectancy, generosity, social support, freedom, and corruption, in all of which Finland is a forerunner.

“But why is Finland attractive for Brazilians? Angry birds, Clash of Clans, just to name few, are the innovations from the Finnish gaming industry and many Finnish companies such as metaverse expert Zoan have premises in Brazil. Also many Brazilian companies are established in Europe and there is a good opportunity to deepen commercial collaboration between companies and create innovations together,” explains Alessandra Leone, Talent manager for the Work in Finland unit at Business Finland. Finland is a country with very low hierarchy in the workplace and corporate bureaucracy is kept to a minimum, which makes everything run much more smoothly. Organizations are agile, which means that innovations can be introduced and implemented quickly.

“Finland is a safe and high-functioning welfare state and the Finnish society has certain cornerstones that make everyday life good. Family welfare and equality are values universally upheld by Finnish society – and they're embedded in workplace policies and culture, too. The very affordable daycare for children here makes it possible for both parents to have an active working life – as well as an enjoyable family life. The healthy balance between work and leisure in Finland also gives plenty of opportunities to enjoy the country's unique nature”, says Laura Lindeman, Senior Director of the Work in Finland unit at Business Finland.
