The future of a free industrious Europe is secured by a safe and autonomous way of using energy. This energy is created, stored, and used sustainably. It has the power to increase our supply security, add high value to European industries, while meeting shared emission targets.

While located in the far northern corner of Europe, Finland is perfectly positioned to serve as the most natural starting point for Europe’s most critical hydrogen-empowered industrial value chains. With less than one per cent of its population, Finland aims to produce at least 10 per cent of the Europe’s clean hydrogen. This is enabled by the vast potential of renewable and affordable electricity production, and a highly robust industrial, technological, and societal landscape with established sustainability commitments.

As Finland continues to increase its investments in innovation and strengthen its competitiveness, it is also setting the stage for something equally important: the wellbeing of those who contribute to this progress. Finland’s consistent ranking as the happiest country in the world is attributed to the high levels of trust and freedom in the Finnish society which, according to research, contribute to wellbeing, productivity – and innovation.
