Tuusula - Hetzner Datacenter Park Helsinki
With the construction of the first data center park in Finland, Hetzner Group has set a precedent for other data center operators to establish operations in Tusuula for mutually-beneficial competitive advantage. The site is ready to build and Hetzner Finland Oy has already started to build its data centers.
A proven and innovative infrastructural concept is being used on site, which takes into account the most critical factors needed for the successful operation of a data center such as fast connections and maximum stability. Moreover, this unique design allows for the layout of critical supply lines on site and for easily accessible maintenance tunnels between separate sections of the building to optimize networking between the various data centers.
This new concept makes it possible for data center units to be built and connected to the existing power and data networks in a very short space of time. Redundant connections to the adjacent power station guarantee power input and multiple fibre optic connections to Helsinki and Germany ensure the rapid exchange of data.
Aside from the infrastructural aspects, the site also offers economic advantage in terms of synergy and economies of scale by concentrating several data centers in one area. Potential savings to be made on data center operations include, for example, power supply, air cooling, staff and building security costs.
The most important benefits for this innovative type of infrastructure in Tuusula are summarized below:
- Optimal power availability owing to redundant connections to the power station on site
- Multiple high-speed fibre optic connections to Helsinki, Sweden and Germany
- Direct connection to the C-Lion cable between Finland and Germany
- Redundant layout of critical supply lines
- Easily accessible maintenance tunnels to optimize networking between the various data center units
- Cost-effective establishment of air cooling and emergency power facilities
- Over 150,000 square metres of buildable space
- New data centers can be built in a very short space of time
- Potential savings in terms of data center operating costs
- Perfect transport connection and very close proximity to Helsinki
Why not take a look at the many possibilities Datacenter Park Helsinki has to offer. If you are interested to use our infrastructure or to build one of your DCs at our Park please contact us.
