As global industries work to decarbonize, hydrogen is emerging as a key enabler—especially in sectors that are difficult to electrify, such as heavy industry, chemical production, shipping, and aviation.

Finland offers a strong foundation for the hydrogen economy, with a unique combination of competitive advantages. The most critical of these is a reliable, abundant supply of clean and cost-efficient electricity. Over 95% of Finland’s electricity production is carbon-free, and electricity prices remain among the lowest in Europe.

This creates a highly attractive environment for hydrogen production, where electricity typically represents up to 70% of operating costs. In Finland, hydrogen projects aren’t just aspirational – they are grounded in solid business cases.
